Lorenzo Gironi

I was born in a small town in the Milanese province. At the beginning of my career I started to experiment with photography simply because I felt the urge to tell and to capture on film the stories and the situations that I came across in my everyday life.

From that simple need, in a couple of years I ended up being a photographer’s assistant. This brought me to the world of fashion, something totally staged and artificial to the spontaneous photography I was used to: in photography everything starts with a white background and then all the other elements need to be placed in a certain way to make a composition, like in a story. Since the means we can use to tell story are many and I was a cinema passionate who wanted to experiment different techniques, l started to explore the image in motion. Another type of narration, more effective, more immediate, with more words and sounds.

Even if the characters of my videos often do not speak, in a few seconds or minutes they try to convey a specific atmosphere, to represent a world in itself, the result of the mixture between my imagination and the client’s request.
